Softly opening as we speak, a little guesthouse. We invite you to take a walk down memory lane with a night or two (or more) at our tiny island paradise: Shelter Island. An ode to the glamorous 60’s and 70’s Riviera, where much like the heady days on Jalan Sanggingan, the beautiful and the damned patrolled the seas and sand.
Inspired by Sunset Beach Motel on Shelter Island, New York – just a ferry ride from the mainland, but an ocean apart in sense of style – where our fearless duo spent their honeymoon. Here you can see our memories come to life in an easy breezy guesthouse that does justice to the name. Brought to life in and surrounded by vivid colours, (ours and Bali’s); either surrounded by vegetation and curled up by the pool or reading in our little lobby library; check in to Shelter Island and check your cares at the door.
Local artists adorn the walls and the natural sounds of Bali ease you off into a good night. Breakfast next door at Powder Room. Perhaps the tasting menu at Room4Dessert. Or even a medicinal plants workshop or pastry intensive class from the Academy to round out your stay at a home away from home. Red, yellow, blue, green.
